With the use of photography, projection and original music, Richard was displaying large installations in bars, clubs & restaurants. As a lighting engineer he was excited by the atmosphere and energy he created with light. “We so easily forget the shapes of things; we become lazy of every day things. I love shadows and silhouettes; they just have a rawness and mystery about them, somehow the subject just comes to life.” Richard once created a fashion show with the entire garments behind a screen; the silhouetted models and clothing was a bold statement and huge success.
After a motor cycle accident in the south of France, Richard decided to recuperate with friends on the East Sussex Coastline. Very much inspired by his surroundings, Richard made the decision to stay. He is now happy living in Rye and working from his studio.
